Camping at Ranch Davy Crockett
|
We camped at the Davy Crockett Ranch. It had the Disney quality of excellence and I would recommend the campground to anyone. There were realistic statues of Grizzly Bears in the traffic circles. Davy Crockett Ranch had an indoor pool with log cabin interior architectural features. The pool was fun with water slide and water rapids. Another impressive aspect of the Davy Crockett Ranch is the ability of the reception staff members to switch languages - from German to French to English.

Disneyland Paris

Among the families of the Pacific Northwest, there appears to be a tradition of taking your children to Disneyland when they are six years old. It seemed odd to me but I guess when a child is six years old, Disneyland is a magical place. Hearing, seeing, and touching fairy tale characters is a special experience - it helps you believe that there can be miracles in the world. Disneyland is a perfect place for a child who is six years old. We did not make it to Disneyland until Erika was seven but Disneyland can still be a magical place. We spent 2 days at Disneyland and we were able to experience all the various lands - Discoveryland, Frontierland, Adventureland, and, of course, Fantasyland. Each experience was special and unique. We saw Chip and Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse on Main Street. Of course, Erika had her picture taken Minnie Mouse as well as Chip and Dale.
In Discoveryland, we visited the Star Tours ride and the new ride, "Honey, I shrunk the audience." The ride, "Honey, I shrunk the audience" has great 3-D effects with holograms and new and improved 3-D effects. In Frontierland, we rode the Sternwheeler Steam Boat and Big Thunder roller coaster. In Adventureland, we rode the Pirate's boat ride and saw the Pirate Ship and Skull. In Fantasyland, we rode the Teacups and walked through the Alice in Wonderland hedge maze. Of course, we explored the Disneyland Castle and the Sleeping Beauty story.
Even when it's pouring rain, each staff member of Disneyland tries to make your visit a delightful experience. The song, "Singing in the Rain" was piped through the loud speakers on the day that it was raining.

The Buffalo Bill Wild West Show
|
Just for fun, we saw the Buffalo Bill Wild West Dinner Show. It was hokey but fun. The French cowboys would not make it in Ellensburg but for a young child it was still exciting and special. The production was Disney quality, so of course, it was great with special lighting effects, clown acts, exciting rodeo contests, and a stagecoach robbery.
